Flight takes World War II, Korean-era, and Vietnam-era veterans from Springfield to Washington, D.C.
Springfield, IL–Springfield Plastics, Inc. donated $2,000 to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight. Springfield Plastics’ Wesley Foreman, Andrea Schroll, and Steve Harbour presented the check to Joan Bortolon, President of the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight program, on October 25, 2022.
“We were honored to make this donation to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight,” said Jennifer Furkin, Vice President of Springfield Plastics, Inc. “Springfield Plastics understands the importance of showing our veterans how grateful we are for their service.”
The Land of Lincoln Honor Flight from Springfield to Washington will take place in 2023. The mission of the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight is to provide round-trip transportation from Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield, Illinois, to Washington for World War II, Korean-era, and Vietnam-era veterans who want to visit their memorials. This trip includes air and ground transportation, meals and snacks, and other items provided to the veteran in honor of their service to our country. The Land of Lincoln Honor Flight is operated by volunteers.
