
Five area FFA groups donate more than 750 pounds of food during FFA Week food drive
Auburn, IL–Springfield Plastics, Inc. has announced the winner of its FFA Week Food Drive Contest is Morrisonville High School. During FFA Week (February 18-25), Springfield Plastics invited area FFA groups to take part in a community food drive contest. As the winning school, Springfield Plastics awarded Morrisonville High School $1000 and will help sponsor a student to go to the FFA state convention.
“We want to congratulate Morrisonville FFA members for bringing in 260 pounds of food for our FFA Week Food Drive Contest,” said Jennifer Furkin, Vice President of Springfield Plastics. “The food they worked so hard to collect in order to win this contest was donated to the Morrisonville Food Pantry.”
Other schools that took part in Springfield Plastics’ FFA Week Food Drive Contest were Edinburg High School, Lincolnwood High School, A-C Central High School, and Northwestern High School. Each school received $250 from Springfield Plastics for participating in the food drive. The total weight of food collected between the five FFA groups was 754.5 pounds!
