Springfield Plastics Announces Carlinville High School Winner of 2024 FFA Week Food Drive

Seven area FFA groups donate more than 2,472 pounds of food during FFA Week food drive

Auburn, IL–Springfield Plastics, Inc. has announced the winner of its 2024 FFA Week Food Drive Contest is Carlinville High School. During FFA Week (February 17-24), Springfield Plastics invited area FFA groups to take part in a community food drive contest. As the winning school, Springfield Plastics awarded Carlinville High School $1,000 to go to the FFA state convention.

“We want to congratulate Carlinville FFA members for bringing in 569.5 pounds of food for our 2024 FFA Week Food Drive Contest,” said Jennifer Furkin, Vice President of Springfield Plastics. “We are so proud to partner with local FFA chapters in this outstanding charitable endeavor. The food the Carlinville FFA group collected will be donated to the Carlinville Food Pantry.”

Other schools that took part in Springfield Plastics’ 2024 FFA Week Food Drive Contest were Edinburg High School, Lincolnwood High School, Morrisonville High School, New Berlin High School, Northwestern High School, and Tri-City High School. Each school received $250 from Springfield Plastics for participating in the food drive. The total weight of food collected between the seven FFA groups was 2,472 pounds, over 1,700 pounds more than was raised in the 2023 FFA Week Food Drive!
