Four Illinois FFA chapters donated more than 3,300 pounds of food
Springfield Plastics, Inc. has announced the winners of its 2026 FFA Week Food Drive Contest! During FFA Week (February 21-28), Springfield Plastics invited FFA chapters in Illinois to take
part in a food drive contest. The New Berlin High School FFA chapter won the contest and was awarded $1,000 to go to their FFA state convention.
“Congratulations to the New Berlin FFA chapter for collecting 1,455 pounds of food for our 2026 FFA Week Food Drive Contest,” said Jennifer Furkin, President of Springfield Plastics. “We are honored to partner with FFA chapters in this wonderful opportunity to give back. The FFA chapters will donate all the food to local food pantries.”
Other schools that took part in Springfield Plastics’ 2026 FFA Week Food Drive Contest were Edinburg High School, Morrisonville High School, and Northwestern High School. Each school received $250 from Springfield Plastics for participating in the food drive. The total weight of food collected between the four FFA chapters was 3,323 pounds, 368 pounds more than was raised in the 2025 FFA Week Food Drive!
